GWHS office of College Counseling

The Gateway academic program is designed to provide a quality college preparatory education to a diverse group of students, including a significant number with learning differences. It is our view that a college education is an essential ingredient to be part of the American Dream.

Through the Gateway High College Counseling Program and its counselors, Gateway prepares our students, including our learning disabled population, for higher education and life beyond high school. At Gateway we look beyond graduation day by working with our students to help them view college as a necessary and attainable goal, seek out and apply to appropriate programs and prepare for its academic challenges. All students take two full semesters of college preparation -- during their second semester of junior year and first semester of senior year. In these classes, students prepare for the SAT and ACT, research college options, and receive guidance and support through the college application process.

Here you will find information and resources that will help you prepare, plan, and carry out post-secondary careers.
